Introduction

Equipped with a ‘mystery bag’, each child is invited during the tour to find, ‘blindly’, the object linked to the rooms they pass through. A fun and interactive activity, this bag is a valuable educational tool that helps children understand 17th-century architecture, furnishings, lifestyle and ceremonial splendour.

Key concepts: 

  • Identify and describe the materials, objects and décor encountered 
  • Identify visual, tactile and olfactory clues to deduce uses and functions 
  • Find one’s way around the castle and within 17th-century society 
  • Expand vocabulary
