Introduction
Following a tour of the château, the group is guided to focus on the different levels of depth within a photograph. Using specific images, the children learn to identify elements from the foreground to the horizon. Once the concept of depth has been grasped, each participant selects a pre-printed photograph of the castle and then distinguishes the different planes using different colours. This workshop helps children to develop an understanding of photographic terminology and learn to navigate images from the age of 3.
Key concepts:
- Identifying the different planes in a photograph using appropriate vocabulary
- Analysing the composition of an image by distinguishing its visual elements
- Create an artistic piece by colouring the different planes of a photograph of the castle using a colour code
